Getting started!

OK, so you’ve installed WordPress and at this point you should have imported the dummy content proved on the main documentation page, or from here. Before jumping into the specific page templates, or any of the other stuff, let’s run through some of the admin options to make sure we’re good post import.

Set home page/blog page templates (Static)

You’ll need to go to the WordPress backend, to ‘Settings’->’Reading’. Then click the radio button for ‘Front page displays -> A static page’ and set it to your ‘Home’ page, and set your posts page to your ‘Blog’ page, as this does not come over with the import.

Demo content import

As mentioned before, it’s much easier to setup this theme using the export provided of the demo content. To do this, simply grab the xml file linked above, head to your WordPress backed, Tools -> Import, and follow the prompts to upload and import the xml file. Make sure and check the box to download/include the images.

Exclude documentation page id

Hover over the documentation nav link and get the page id. Then head to the options panel, go to the navigation section, and add that id in the ‘Page ID’s to exclude’.

Exclude signup page id

Hover over the signup page in the navigation and get the page id. Then head to the options panel, go to the navigation section, and add that id in the ‘Page ID’s to exclude’.

Set New Music page id (for BigNav functionality)

Hover over the New Music nav link and get the page id. Go to Musaic options panel, Page/Category ID management -> New Music Page ID and set the id

Set music category

Go to your categories in the WordPress backend. Find the category called ‘Music’, hover over it, and get the category id (should display in your browser’s status bar somewhere).

Set music feature category

Go to your categories in the WordPress backend. Find the category called ‘Featured’, hover over it, and get the category id (should display in your browser’s status bar somewhere).
